Is Fabio saying that these wars may delay the collapse of the dollar? For a time?

He is saying that one of the consequences of the wars is this but the jury is out as to how long the dollar will reign. The BRICS nations (bloc of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, recently joined by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, and still growing) are moving to counter the dollar hegemony. This is why Trump pushed hard on Modi to refuse Russian oil where now India is buying Russia's oil in yuan and roubles. It's all very fascinating as a story, on the one hand, but the IRL fallout will likely be devastating when the dollar crumbles as we would enter into a hyperinflation and deep recession that would create levels of poverty that would lead to food insecurity and starvation in other parts of the world even outside the US, Canada and Mexico. The resulting global economic chaos, food price inflation, and disruptions to supply chains would have severe consequences, particularly for nations that rely heavily on imported food and those in economic distress. But I will leave Fabio to answer the spirit of your first question more accurately.

I replied. If my knowledge is uninformed and my thinking is misguided lmk. Never too old to learn.

Well the longer I listened to this guest the more I heard about the things I'm concerned with. Perhaps I spoke too quickly... but not sure.....

Indeed, there are more and more people from what used to be called the left and the right, who are coming to see the exact same things, who are also concerned about these issues. I am hoping that we might all band together because the list of have-nots is growing second by second. It's quite frightening to be sure.

Thanks for your explanation, sorry for the delay/

Capitalism is not the problem. Capitalism corruption is the problem, and the answer is to clean up capitalism. This guest sounds like a socialist paving the way to communism. Fuck that! Communism and creeping socialism is a way to control us. I don't know why guests do not explain this honestly. Their explanations lean more toward what they want or support, politically.

Did not the .com bubble and the various financial crises and bailouts long ago prove that there is no daylight between capitalism and corruption (depending, of course, on how you define corruption)? Communism is not at all the same as socialism and I doubt there is any more control from these discourses than already set upon all of us by capitalism. I agree that the tyranny of identity politics from so-called "socialists" would make anyone run from that crowd, however, if you listen to our episodes with Joti Brar, you would be hard pressed to find much with which to disagree. I think we must separate the clown car sideshow of wokery and no-platforming which is in its own way a huge social problem from the takeover of our cultures, communities and resources by the growing oligarchy.

I actually apologized after listening to the speaker longer. I tuned into the conversation in the middle of the interview and shot off my mouth/opinion too soon. He was not supporting socialism.

As far as socialism not being the same as communism-I agree. It's not as radical or the same.... However, socialism could easily go in that direction, as has happened in the past.

I don't see Europe's social democracy as socialism either. But it does have more government involvement in people's lives. And yes, that could be good--education and medical paid for... but they also have a capitalist economy with more regulations. These things are worth paying higher taxes for, imo. That said, these EU countries have gone radically left since the pandemic and still going more so. I do believe this is because they had govt more involved in their policies and in people's lives in the first place, which enabled the system to turn way more authoritative than the US, where I live.

England has fallen and I believe Germany and Ireland are next. If kamala Harris would have won over Trump, I think the US would have moved toward socialism or communist leanings by now. That said, I do see us going in that direction anyway. For instance, Mamdani becoming the NYC mayor, to me, signals that things may be going toward the left direction. He also campaigned against capitalism-- he doesn't like capitalism. (California has become a nightmare in certain areas and Canada too.) I'm wondering where and how to escape--perhaps to Florida. I really don't know and am losing sleep over this question.

I want to live in a democratic country with a corruption -reduced capitalist society-- like back in the Kennedy days-if possible. Yes, I know where that got him but still, I desire this kind of comeback. I think it's possible, but it's NOT what the powerful global elites want.

I'm a working-class senior who started to open my eyes to politics and history only when the pandemic started. So, I could be getting things wrong since I'm such a late starter. I truly hope things are not as bad as I think and sense.
