"...the elites use language and expert knowledge as weapons to confuse unorganized citizens".

Dr. Richard Denniss, a highly respected economist, said in an essay some years back that he realised early in his Uni days, that economists talk in jargon for the same reason that Catholic priests used to read their sermons in Latin while knowing that no-one in the congregation could understand a word they said.

It was a case of "This is all too complicated for you peasants to understand - just leave it to us, we're the experts."

Dr Denniss later published a book titled Econobabble, in which he broke down and translated the male bovine excrement.

On the subject of unions, they should be some of the strongest opponents of data centres since the resulting A.I. ( which one wag suggested stands for artificial idiot ) is going to take away their jobs. which by the way, would be fine if Govts. bought in a Universal Basic Income so that the wealth accruing from A.I. was shared among the people for who jobs no longer exist.

Which was the vision imagined by my High school science teacher back in the '60s.
